A message from the principal
Welcome to 2023! I hope this newsletter finds everyone winding down from a great Holiday Season filled with many family memories that will last forever. Not only did I get to enjoy some much needed time with my family during the break, but I also had a very proud “principal moment.”
So back in November I sent this tweet about our fifth grade Coyotes who participated in the Greyson Project.
At that time, I was proud of these Coyotes and their teachers for coming together to support this worthy cause. By looking at our Coyotes faces, I believe they learned that it truly is better to give than to receive.
This story continued on Christmas Day… I received a text from a close friend/neighbor of mine whose sister and brother-in-law spent the holidays in the hospital, with their very sick child.
He sent me this picture and said “This is really awesome. Please let these kids and teachers know how much this meant to their family and their son during this very difficult time. Merry Christmas.”
Way to go Coyotes! Let’s continue to do great things in 2023!

Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the festivities. We hope you received a wonderful gift under your tree. And a huge thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who made this event possible.
Carnival is coming up January 26th! Keep an eye out for Raffle for Readiness raffle tickets, which will be coming home this week. Also, make sure to have your kids start saving their coins for Coin Wars coming up at the end of the month.

Volunteer News
Happy New Year! First, I'd like to say thank you to the many who have volunteered time at Andover Elementary so far this school year. This includes everything from stuffing open house folders, making thousands and thousands of copies (YES, it's a lot!), helping with events, and chaperoning field trips. Without you generously giving your time, we simply couldn't do many of these things.
With that, I'm excited to share a few upcoming volunteer opportunities we have in January:
- General Volunteering in the workroom
- Raffle ticket counting
- 4th grade reading help
- Coyote Carnival - this is a great opportunity for high school and middle school students to volunteer

People Incorporated
Mental Health Services
We are hiring for a mental health therapist at Andover Elementary in the Anoka Hennepin School District. Come work to be part of the everyday life of the children we serve.
This is a great opportunity to be embedded in a school site working in collaboration with student support staff with consistent support from a well-established school-based team.
We provide students with access to therapy in the school setting, working alongside the school team and families to meet students where they are, and reduce barriers to accessing services.
