New Year, New Month, New Semester?
Nearly Halfway There!
2nd Quarter Conferences
Are you:
- Wondering how your child is doing in school?
- Striving to help your senior earn that last few credits before graduation?
- Curious who teaches your teenager?
- Eager to contribute to our community?
- Excited to celebrate your student's successes and mitigate their struggles?
Now's your chance!
Unlike most schools, we here at Leaders have a conference each and every quarter. We carefully select our conference dates to fall at least one week before the end of each quarter - giving our families time to course-correct where needed, and cheer lead where students are thriving.
Our second parent/teacher conference of the year is coming in NEXT WEEK, and we can't wait to connect with each of you! Much like our previous conferences, we'll run the event as a drop-in open house.
If you're eager to reserve a particular time to meet with your child's teachers, be sure to email them directly to make those arrangements as otherwise we're running this event first-come first-served.

The final day of 1st semester/2nd quarter is next Friday, January 23 (though monthly progress is determined January 31). Now's the time to make the big push to get those grades up to passing and earn credit in all of your (or your child's) classes.
Not sure whether you're passing? Take a minute to log into Skyward and Canvas to check your grades.
Not happy with what you see? Talk to your teachers about any missing or low-scoring assignments, work with them to make a plan to pass this month, and then boogie! Not sure how to begin that conversation? Come find Blake or Taryn - we'll be more than happy to coach you through.
You've got this!

Temperance & Good Citizenship Day - January 16, 2020
Observation of Temperance and Good Citizenship Day is meant to promote civics education and peaceful citizen engagement.
“Though many students would hate the idea of their parents making every decision for them, they forget that’s essentially what happens when they don’t vote for themselves. By providing immediate access to registration, we hope to empower students. To remind these young citizens that they have an indispensable voice in shaping the future of our state, nation and world.”
- Secretary of State Kim Wyman
Here at LILHS, we'll be having a voter registration drive and celebrating students' right to vote as a key part of taking a Leadership role in their world!
