National Teen Driver Safety Week: October 18-24
In 2019, Iowa lost 39 young drivers between the ages of 14 – 20 in motor vehicle crashes. Seven of those drivers had a blood alcohol over the legal limit. During National Teen Driver Safety Week, October 18-24, the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau is teaming up with law enforcement across the state to help empower parents to discuss the importance of safe driving habits with their young drivers. October is Cyber Security Month - Google Password Protection Tips from ITS
According to Infrastructure Technology Solutions (ITS), schools are large targets for phishing attacks, ransomware, social engineering and other cyber threats. Many of these threats include attempts to retrieve account credentials, whether for your school Gmail or other websites. Holiday, Basketball, & Musical Apparel Orders

- Holiday apparel ordering period will close 10:00 AM on Monday November 2
- No late orders will be accepted. Check the school website for order pick up information.
How to Select CDC Appropriate Masks
CDC recommends that you wear masks in public settings around people who don’t live in your household and when you can’t stay 6 feet away from others. When selecting a mask, there are many choices. Positivity Rate in Jasper County
The positivity rate for each county located at https://coronavirus.iowa.gov/pages/percent-school-district-positive-analysis As of Wednesday, October 14, 2020, the positivity rate for Jasper County is 7.2%.
Free Meal Pick-Up for L-S Absent Students
All Lynnville-Sully enrolled students who are absent from school may pick-up a free meal between 11:30 am - 11:40 am at the front entrance of the elementary/middle school. Meals will be brought out to your vehicle. Meals must be ordered by 8:00 am the day of meal pick-up. If your child is absent due to sickness, COVID-19 quarantine, COVID-19 isolation, or any other reason, you may email or call Shelley Vander Molen before the 8:00 am the day of meal pick-up. Email Shelley: vandermolen@lshawks.com or call and leave a message: 641-594-4445 extension 133. The free meal pick-up will be offered through December 31, 2020, or until federal funding is no longer available.
