Limited In Person Instruction (LIPI)-
Given the current COVID-19 case count and test positivity rate in Hood River County, HRCSD will continue to provide its students with Comprehensive Distance Learning.
In addition, beginning the week of Monday, Jan. 25, HRCSD will begin offering LIPI to a small group of students who are experiencing significant challenges with distance learning.
HRCSD plans to expand LIPI over the course of the coming weeks to provide more in-person instructional opportunities for students.
The primary goal of LIPI is to bring the students with the most critical needs on school campuses to connect with teachers and support staff.
Participation in LIPI
School Response to Instruction and Intervention (RTIi) and Early Warning System (EWS) teams prioritized students who may participate in LIPI.
LIPI offers HRCSD an opportunity to serve a small and specific population of students for a limited amount of time (two hours per day maximum), providing them the academic and social-emotional support they need.
The primary criteria for student eligibility in LIPI are attendance, behavior, and academics.
School staff contacted students who are invited to participate in LIPI. Student participation in LIPI is voluntary.

Counseling Department Update:
The Counseling Department is no longer using the Naviance System for college applications and transcript requests.
The new platform, is not quite ready. Until staff and students are ready to use the new system contact your counselor directly if you need assistance - transcripts, common app recommendations, college applications, etc. Thank you for your patience as we go through this process.

Daily Morning Announcements
Students review these daily in ELC, but families can also visit our website hrvhs.com to view the morning announcements.
HRCSD Athletic Update:
HRCSD has begun high school pre-season workouts and reconditioning drills with our student-athletes. It has been great seeing the students in-person. The social, emotional, and physical benefits to the kids in our community through these workouts is notable.
The competition season is still up in the air, however we plan to move forward with creating a competition calendar, having a backup plan & knowing that a contingency plan may be needed in addition to the first 2 plans.
Workouts currently include: Check-in screening, physical distancing, masks worn 100% of the time, cleaning of hands and all equipment and a separate entrance & exit.
Please check out this 1 min. video showing our protocols:
