From Your Directors

The band staff is very proud of all the hard work and countless hours of dedication that the students put in this year. We had two fantastic performances that made it all worth it. While we fell short of advancing to state, we put together a beautiful marching band production and created memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to the students for being such great performers, musicians, athletes, and just all around wonderful people. It’s been a great year so far!

Since we are finished with competitive marching band for the year, we will cancel Monday and Wednesday rehearsal, and will only have one rehearsal on Thursday to prepare for the Friday football game.

Thank you to the parents for all the continued support of the Clear Lake band program. We appreciate it!

SENIOR Night at Friday Game

Senior Night is Friday, November 5th and we have collected information from all but two senior families. Mr. Gray will help us gather missing information. All seniors who are involved in games line up on the football field with 2 escorts and their future plans are announced at the game.

Here is what we have been told so far:

  • Wear your Senior Mum!
  • We will line up parents and seniors near the fieldhouse at 6:00.
  • Posters will be hung on the fence near where we will begin walking so that participants can get themselves lined up (think like southwest airlines- you get your order and get in line).
  • Mr. Gray be present with the group as they walk checking names before they are called so we can radio any last minute issues or additions (they happen every year and we make changes on the fly). The goal is to get all the seniors presented as this is as special night!
  • A maximum of two escorts should be listed. This is usually 1 or both parents. If parent(s) cannot attend, then the 1 or 2 adults that are escorting them (sometimes a coach, teacher or grandparent). We cannot list every single person they want to walk with.
  • We have already collected your announcements and sent them to administration.

We will send an update on Thursday to make sure that there are no changes to the 6:00 line up time or where to line up.

Thank you,

Lisa Russell

Crazy Sock Fundraiser

Hello, Clear Lake Band Families,

WE NEED YOUR HELP! The Band has an exciting fundraiser kicking off on Monday, November 8th and is seeking your support! The Rock Your Socks Fundraiser is the perfect opportunity for us to raise the much-needed funds to offset the purchase of our tractor rig.

Not only will every purchase directly benefit our group, but for every pack of socks (3pairs/pack) sold, 1 pair of socks will be donated to a local charity. Last year, we donated almost 360 pairs of socks!

This year, our goal is to sell 20 per student so that we can donate at least 1,000 pairs of socks.

This entire fundraiser is run right from the palm of your hand, making it easier than ever to promote the fundraiser with everyone you know! Your job is simple, but crucial in helping us reach our goal!

**WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU**

Please make sure your student is registered for the fundraiser and help your student fill out the CONTACT LIST with 25 phone numbers of friends and family by Thursday, October 28th (but you can do this NOW)

INSTRUCTIONS AND CONTACT LIST ARE HERE. This is a NATIONWIDE fundraiser so ANYONE YOU KNOW can support your student by receiving a text with a link to our Fundraiser Page and making a purchase. Every purchase made will directly benefit the Clear Lake HS Band and our students.

Fundraiser kickoff is Monday, November 8th but presales are allowed and encouraged!

Thank you for your support!
