Sunrise Family Updates
October 17th, 2022
Hi Sunrise Families!
Hi Families! Happy Monday! Thanks for taking a moment to read these updates:
Halloween Costume Guidelines - Students will be allowed to wear Halloween costumes to school on Monday, October 31st, as long as they are appropriate. Please click on this link to see the guidelines.
Pupil Services Series for Families - There are some awesome upcoming family learning sessions that are free of charge with dinner and child care provided. The sessions are taking place at different schools throughout the district; you are welcome to attend all of them. Thanks for taking a moment to check out the link!
Parent Teacher Conferences - Last week teachers sent out sign ups to families via Bloomz messages. Thank you for signing up for a conference time as this time to connect with your child’s teacher is very important. A reminder that Friday, October 28th we will dismiss students at 10:50 a.m. for conferences. We are excited that our PTO will also offer a Book Fair at this time (located on the 2nd floor, next to our library)! Look for more information in your child's red folder on this.
Thank you for all of your support and for taking a moment to read a few more updates below. Have a great week!

It is getting to that time of the year again! The Sturgeon Bay Boys Basketball Youth Program is preparing for the new season for our 4th-8th grade boys teams. In order to ensure everyone has the appropriate information for the upcoming season, we are asking parents/guardians to fill out a contact information form.
If your child is interested in participating in youth basketball this season, please fill out the Google Form sign-up, linked here by Friday, October 21st.
Like in past seasons, teams will practice a few nights per week, and will participate in the NWBBL Saturday league. More information about the season will be presented to everyone at our parent/guardian meeting in early November (the exact date of this meeting is to be determined).
If you have any further questions or concerns at this time, please feel free to direct them to our Youth Basketball Coordinator, Zach Goblisch (zgoblisch@sbsdmail.net).
Thank you and Go Clippers!

Reading Buddy Volunteers Needed
Sunrise Elementary School is looking for adults interested in becoming a Reading Buddy to a student in grades 3-5. Reading Buddies allow our students to have some quiet reading time with an adult, while building a relationship. Reading Buddies can read aloud or listen and help a student read, they can discuss new vocabulary or ideas from the story. Reading Buddies meet one-on-one with a student, once a week for 15-30 minutes.
If you are interested in learning more about the Sunrise School Reading Buddy program, contact Lola DeVillers at 920-746-5915 or email her at ldevillers@sbsdmail.net.
