About Our Job
Veterinarians, or Vets, are very important to animals. Vets diagnose, prevent, and treat a variety of animal illnesses and diseases. They observe conditions in animals, perform surgery, and prescribe medication and therapy.
Becoming a Vet
To become a vet, you must complete a four year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program in addition to undergraduate school. You are also required to get licenses to practice in the profession.
Salary
Veterinarians receive $84,460 a year! That's $40.61 per hour, which is a lot of money!
