PINE HOLLOW MIDDLE SCHOOL
February 24, 2020
Pine Hollow Parents,
Thank you for the 243 reams of paper that you donated as part of the PTSA's Copy Paper Drive! This was a huge success, and helped us save nearly $2,000!
At Pine Hollow, we face very real, and very unique, budget challenges. We are given about $100,000 annually in discretionary dollars from the district and state. Our PTSA then raises approximately $40,000 from parents, community members and local companies. So, our total discretionary budget is just about $150,000 per year. (For a variety of reasons, this is, significantly lower than any other middle school in our district.)
Our $150,000 budget is generally used up in a few main areas:
- Supplies (pens, paper, toner, staples, markers, etc)
- Furniture (desks, chairs, white boards, etc)
- Technology (Chromebooks, laptops, printers, etc)
- Professional Development (conferences, seminars, etc)
- Staffing (club advisers, chaperones, sports coaches, homework club tutors, etc)
- Resources (books, software, etc)
So, long story short, every ream of paper you donated, helps us use our funds on more critical items that we need. Thank you for your support and for helping to make Pine Hollow great!
Ben Campopiano
Principal
Pine Hollow Middle School
PS... Join us this Wednesday, 2/26, for our monthly PTSA meeting. We meet from 6:30-8:00 in the school library, and it's a great chance to learn more about what's going on at Pine Hollow!

Healthy Kids Survey for Parents
Please take some time to complete the California Healthy Kids Survey, given annually to students, staff, and parents across the state to help schools and districts better understand their culture and climate. At Pine Hollow, our staff reviews all of the survey results to help us make necessary improvements and changes each year.
