Bobcat Broadcast
May 28, 2021
A Message from Mrs. Caudill
If you are like me you have been running at 150 miles per hour for the last few months. It is important to rest, relax and rejuvenate. Making sure that our students, staff, and families have the opportunity to completely detach themselves from school—physically and mentally—on the days they’re off is an important part of our commitment to honoring the whole person. (Leader in Me fans call this “Sharpening the Saw.”) In other words, we know our students and staff have lives outside of school, and guess what? We want them to enjoy those healthy, balanced lives!
I plan to take this holiday weekend to pause - enjoy the sunshine, dig in the dirt, listen to the birds chirp and not worry. I hope you do the same
Stay well,
Devon Caudill

A tribute to our outgoing fifth graders
Throughout the years we have watched our fifth graders grow as leaders and learners. Some have been Bobcats since kindergarten, and some for as short as a year. But, no matter how long their time has been with us, they have made an impact on us that we will never forget.
Good Luck next year in sixth grade. And remember, once a Bobcat, Always a Bobat!

In person students will be participating with their classes at school. Virtual students can participate at home with their families. Event directions will be provided next Friday via this Broadcast. You can choose to do one activity or all ten. It’s up to you. The goal is for students to get moving, enjoy some time outside and have fun!

May Focus: Integrity! Habit 8: Find your Voice!
Every month Amerman Focuses on a new theme and Leader in Me Habit of the Month. The focus for the month of May is Integrity and our Habit of the Month is Habit 8: Find you Voice!
This month’s Habit: Habit #8 - Find your Voice
What this means: Find your voice means finding something that you are good at and like doing. You are proud, but do not boast. Instead, you use your expertise to help and inspire others.
Physical: Learn your true nature and gifts, then use them to envision what you can achieve.
Social/Emotional: We all have a purpose and special talents.
Mental: Transcend the negative culture of ego, scarcity, comparison, and competitiveness.
Spiritual: Be a catalyst to the success of something bigger than ourselves.
What I can do:
- Try something new like painting, horseback riding, or baseball. Then ask yourself: Did I enjoy myself? Was it easy or hard? Do I want to learn more?
- Go to the library or search the internet to find reading material on new things. What kinds of things spark your interest? What do you want to continue learning about?
- Plan some time to help someone in need. How did the experience make you feel?
Great Books for Habit #8- Find Your Voice
- Wonder by: R.J. Palacio
- The Lion Inside by: Rachel Bright
- Separate is Never Equal by: Duncan Tonatiuh
- Wonderland by: Barbara O'Connor
- Those Shoes by: Maribeth Boelts
