Silent Auction Preview - J.N. "Ding" Darling Fine Art Print
This is a once in a lifetime chance to own a piece of art history. Jay N. Darling was a Pulitzer Prize winning, syndicated cartoonist for the Des Moines Register; a nationally acclaimed conservationist; and a fine artist. The fine art prints of J.N. “Ding” Darling (1876-1962) explore his interests in wildlife conservation. Darling’s images, both cartoon and etchings became the conscience of conservation for over half a century. While Darling has many legacies, one of his most enduring was the development, creation and implementation of the Federal Duck Stamp Program in 1934 under the U.S. Biological Survey (now the United States Fish and Wildlife Service), that was and remains directed towards wetland refuges for wildlife where millions of acres have been rescued, restored and preserved.
This fine art etching was originally in the private collection of Fred and Ruth Kammeier until they donated it to University Museums at ISU. It was generously donated by Dan Konrady.

The Saint Cecilia Gala
St. Cecilia has provided quality Catholic education programs in the Ames area for over 100 years. Currently, the St. Cecilia School serves over 250 children from preschool to fifth grade and parish programs provide faith formation opportunities for over 1700 families. Additional funding is necessary as we seek to provide the finest educational experiences for our children into the future.
Since 2006, the St. Cecilia Gala has been held to create a “third source” income for the school and faith formation. Already, the Gala endowment is helping to fund our Catholic Education efforts. With your help the fund will continue to grow and contribute even more for the future.
The St. Cecilia Gala, a fun and festive dinner event including a live and silent auction, is a wonderful community gathering that attracts over 300 people to support the future of St. Cecilia.
