Also, a couple of reminders from the counseling center:
- Let Mrs. Ingram know where to send your final transcript
- Let Mrs. Ingram know what scholarships you have received. This goes to the newspaper and students are recognized for these scholarships on Honors Night.
- Send Thank You notes for the scholarships you received. A hand written thank you goes a long way!
- See us in the counseling center if we need to add your picture to "Oh, the Places You'll Go" wall. Remember, it does not have to be a college.

UNL Beta Tau
Beta Tau chapter of Delta Tau Delta will be offering one $500 and two $250 scholarships to incoming freshman interested in joining the Greek community at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Candidates should complete the following to be considered for this scholarship:
- Attach their high school resume
- Attach a copy of their official high school transcript.
- Answer a question on the application in 500 or fewer words.
Horatio Alger Career and Technical Scholarship
The Horatio Alger Association announces the first national scholarship program for students seeking to pursue career or technical education in a post-secondary environment. This program provides financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Scholarship criteria also include high school completion by spring of 2016, commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical certificate/degree, and United States citizenship. The association will award 10 in the state of Nebraska with a maximum award amount of $2,500 depending on the length of the program. Students can apply at application.horatioalger.org until June 1st.
Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship Program
Fashion-Schools.org is proud to announce our third annual "Aspiring Fashion Professional" Scholarship Program. Our goal for this program is twofold:
- To promote fashion and its related fields as a career path for young people
- To encourage aspiring fashion professionals to research and understand what a career in fashion requires.
Our program offers scholarship opportunities to high school seniors in the US. A single $1000 scholarship will be awarded.
Scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who:
- Intend to pursue a fashion related field at an accredited post-secondary school or college.
- Have a demonstrable record of academic success.
- Have a passion and drive for a fashion related career.
Selection Criteria
- Scholarship may be used at any accredited post-secondary school or college.
- Selection is based on the students high school academic performance combined with the student's application essay.
- Selection is determined by the Fashion-Schools.org staff.
- Scholarship is a one-year non-renewable scholarship.
- Application and essay are submitted online at www.Fashion-Schools.org.
Eligibility:
The scholarship is limited to high school seniors in the US pursuing a fashion related degree program at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Fashion related fields include, but are not limited to, the following programs:
- Fashion Design
- Fashion Merchandising
- Fashion Marketing
- Fashion Management
- Fashion Retailing
Application process:
There are two steps to the application process:
Step 1: Applicants must submit an application via the scholarship application form on Fashion-Schools.org.
Step 2: Applicants must submit an original 500-1000 word original essay on the following topic:
What specific skill do you most want to develop?
Essay is submitted via our scholarship application page and MUST include your name and contact information (so we know whose application goes with which essay!).
Application Deadline:
Deadline for applications is June 1, 2016. Scholarship winners will be announced in July 2016 and the scholarships paid in August, 2016.

2016 Jim Hurlbert Scholarship
4 - $500 scholarships for graduating seniors who participate in Nebraska American Legion Baseball. Click here for more information and an application. Application is due June 15th.
The 2016 Aspiring Nurse Scholarship
Nursing Schools Almanac is proud to announce our second annual Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. We will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates:
- A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics
- A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare
Competition eligibility
This scholarship is open to all US high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs.
Applicants must be in good academic standing and on track to graduate from high school at the conclusion of the 2015-16 academic year. Only one application entry is accepted per student.
Important dates
June 30, 2016: Submission deadline for scholarship applications is 11:59pm PT.
July 2016: Scholarship committee will meet to review all applications received.
August 2016: Winner will be notified and $1,000 scholarship will be awarded.

Interested students may find the complete scholarship application form here. We recommend composing the 500-word essay in your favorite word processor and then pasting the finished product into this form.

Sigma Phi Epsilon gives out a scholarship once a year. This scholarship is called the Balanced Man Scholarship and is available for application by all males attending the University of Nebraska at Omaha in the Fall of 2016.
The details for the scholarship are:
Applicants should show academic success and involvement in high school.
Applicants have NO obligation whatsoever to join our fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon.
Applicants must apply by July 31.
The total prize money of $2000 and will be awarded in the following way:
One first place winner will receive $1000.
Two second place winner will receive $500.
