Principal's Message
Since we are mid-January and in the heart of the winter weather season, please take a few minutes to double check your information in Skyward and ensure your Family and Emergency Contact information is accurate. The Family and Emergency Contact information must be accurate otherwise your child will only be released to the individuals who are listed within Family and/or Emergency Contact within Skyward.
Counselors' Corner
In the coming months counselors will be introducing information for the upcoming season of scheduling for the 2016-2017 academic year. For the timeline of arena scheduling please visit the district website: http://www.gcisd-k12.org/arena
The reporting period for current Juniors and Seniors for updated GPA will be mid-January. We will be disseminating that information to students once the Fall semester grades have been finalized. Updates will be provided. Transcript requests will be re-opened at this same point.
DUAL ENGLISH:
Dual English classes for enrolled Seniors begin again on Jan. 19th. If you have not already done so, the deadline to pay for spring semester Dual English is January 15th. Payment can be made through your WebAdvisor account or by contacting the TCC Business Services Office at 817-515-4PAY (4729).
Information About PSAT Scores
The PSAT scores are in. The campuses will then receive paper scores around January 29th. Student test books will be returned to students through their English classes after paper scores are received by the school.
In order for students to have access to their online scores, they will need to create an account with College Board. Students may already have an account if they have created one for previous tests through AP, PSAT/NMSQT, CLEP or BigFuture. If you need to create an account, please use this link: https://account.collegeboard.org/iamweb/smartRegister?appId=319&affiliateId=arupnssr&bannerId=cbacct&DURL=https%3A//collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10/scores
Since the redesigned PSAT/NMSQT is different from the previous tests, the numerical scores on the two tests are not equivalent. The link below is to a preliminary concordance table to help show how pre-2015 and redesigned PSAT/NMSQT scores relate to one another. Final tables will be available in May, but this will help with planning for point boosters and other college readiness activities.

Students will need to link their College Board account with a specific access code to their test score for the October PSAT. If you did not receive an email with an access code from College Board, you may contact the Associate Principal of Academics at steffany.batik@gcisd.net or your student's counselor.

Yearbook Information
Greetings Mustang Parents,
If you have not yet ordered a 2016 Mustang Yearbook, you have until Friday, Jan. 22 at midnight to do so. Please visit www.smart-pay.com and follow the instructions online to purchase.
Books cost $75 and you may purchase them online using a check or credit card. Please be aware we will have a VERY limited quantity of books for sale during distribution in May. Please do not risk being able to purchase a book in May and secure one today.
Are you unsure if you ordered a book? So duplicate yearbook orders are not created, we request you call 800-853-1337 or email me (Jillian.Rooney@gcisd.net) to check. An existing order can easily be confirmed before a duplicate order is created.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for your continued support of the GHS Journalism Department and helping us celebrate our 100th edition of the Mustang Yearbook.
