Principal's Messages
Season's Greetings, Chester Ronning School Community!
The holiday season has arrived and I am sure that students and staff alike are all very glad to have some time off to rest, recharge and generally do something different from their studies and classes!
We have enjoyed a lot of fun over the past few weeks at school, though. There have been interesting Christmas crafts and artwork being completed and students were learning Christmas songs in their music classes. We've been gathering for daily carolling in the gym all this week and we enjoyed a school-wide movie on Tuesday. And today, our staff have planned all kinds of educational and fun Christmas-themed lessons and activities for their homerooms. Needless to say, CRS is full of Christmas cheer! Additionally, our Christmas Activity Night on December 14th seemed to be a great success. Fortunately, the weather was cooperating much better a week ago and it seemed like both the indoor and outdoor activities were well received. It was great to see so many people from our school community come out to enjoy some festive cheer together and the feedback that I have received about the evening has been overwhelmingly positive. Our staff have already shared a few ideas for tweaks that could be made if this becomes a new CRS tradition but I think it went very well considering it was our first attempt at this kind of holiday event. Thank you so much for joining us for that evening and I hope that we will have more opportunities like that in the future.
With the bitter cold that we are enduring this week, many students were not able to make it to school for our final day before the break but I hope that all of our CRS families enjoy a happy holiday and we will look forward to all of the students' return in the New Year. Our office will be closed during the break but, if you need to reach someone, please submit an email through the contact page on our website as I plan to periodically check for messages throughout the holidays.
However you celebrate the holidays, on behalf of the entire CRS staff, I'd like to wish you a very safe and happy time to rest and enjoy your loved ones during this festive season. Classes resume on January 5th and we look forward to seeing you then!
Merry Christmas!
