Fifth Grade - 5B

A Note from Mrs. Priego

We had a great day celebrating Grandparents' Day at Shalom! We had around 25 grandparents visit our classroom today, and the excitement was palpable! The fifth graders performed an entertaining skit during our assembly, and several fifth graders served as student escorts for the visiting grandparents today. In the classroom, our fifth grade class took the opportunity to interview one of their grandparents about what it was like for them to be a fifth grader. Grandparents were also able to test their knowledge and see if they were "Smarter Than a Fifth Grader." I am confident that memories were made today, and it was a blessing to spend the day with grandparents!

***As cooler weather approaches I want to remind you that students will be required to wear a sweater or jacket at recess if the temperature is 59 degrees or below. We consult the to check the temperature at 12:30 pm each day. Students without jackets will not be allowed to go outside.

The fifth grade students have selected a quilt to sponsor at Dutchfest this year. The quilt will be auctioned off during Dutchfest to raise money for our school. The total cost is $110 or $3.00 per student. This covers the cost of the materials to make the quilt. You may send cash, check (made payable to Shalom) or have the money deducted from your FACTS account. Please look for the Quilt Money Request Form in your child's red folder on Monday, and complete and return the form by Friday, October 21st.
