Clarks Creek students have PRIDE!

SCHOOL GOALS - What will you do BEFORE MAY to get our students there?

Dear Staff,

This week has brought some amazing opportunities for us to see our school through the eyes of others. The administrators who visited our school on Friday saw so many things that they enjoyed and were excited to see the learning taking place in our building. Thanks for all that you do to provide such great experiences for our students every single day!

Along those same lines, yesterday I had a different kind of great opportunity. Sometimes when we work with such young students, we don't always get to see how things go for them later in life. The picture I included above is at the wedding of two of my former third grade students. (They were not in the same class, but I had them both in third grade!) I have kept in close contact with with the bride and her family over the years, but in addition to that, I was able to see TEN of my former students at the event. In that small sampling, there is a chemist, two IU medical students (one first year and one in her final year), a teacher, two civil engineers, and a law student! Let's never forget that the students we work with every single day are the ones who will be changing the future for all of us. Those kindergarteners, second graders, fourth graders, and so on, become those adults who will make us proud and remind us of why we got into education in the first place.

Have a super week!

To-Do List

  • Last chance to turn in a list of obsolete equipment from your room/area!
  • We must have the names of your March Value Students by Wednesday morning! Jim and I will be eating with all of the Feb. and March students on Wednesday in the LGI during regular lunch periods, so they will need to know who they are.

  • Reminder - Tuesday, March 24th, all general eduction IAs will be out of the classrooms for the day to complete a task for our building - grading the K CogAT tests. If you normally have an IA in your room at any point during the day on Tuesday, please plan for them to not be there that day. If the task is not completed, it is possible it will extend into the day on Wednesday, but I am hopeful it will all be done at the end of the day on Tuesday.
  • Tuesday is also our PRIDE convo day! We will run the alternate schedule to accommodate this.
  • In addition to the Value Students that will have lunch with the principals on Wednesday, those who earned a "lunch with the principal" certificate at the carnival may also come to the LGI on Wednesday during lunch. They must bring their certificate for admittance!
  • PHS is putting on The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe as their spring play this year. They will be coming to present a few scenes from the play for our students on April 17th at 2:45. We will run the alternate schedule on that day, as well, and will begin dismissing students to the gym about 2:35.
