Author of The Hobbit and many other books
After J.R.R. Tolkien’s father, Arthur Tolkien, died Tolkien and his brother settled with his mother in Birmingham, England, when he was four years old. In 1904, his mother, Mabel Tolkien, died so Ronald (J.R.R Tolkien) and his brother, Hilary were sent to live with relatives in boarding homes.
the Anglo-Saxons were people of German descent on the 5th Century to the Norman Conquest. They spoke old English which was very different from English now.
No one influenced Tolkien except himself. He was going over an exam and got bored and decided to doodle on his paper, so he drew a hole in a hill and put a short man outside it with a wizard. He then wrote “...there once was a hobbit.”, and the story was born.
