GCPS Parent Survey

Thank you to everyone that completed the Georgia Department of Education survey during conferences. We have one more survey that we need your help with.

GCPS Survey:

Each year GCPS conducts a Parent Perception Survey which is available on the Parent Portal. Once you log-in to your account, the survey should automatically pop up on your screen (make sure your pop-up blocker is turned off if you don't see it).

If you do not have a Parent Portal account, you may visit our front office to complete a Parent Portal form, along with showing a valid ID, and we will get you signed up for an account.

Click here to log-in to your account.

** You may also come in to Dyer Elementary School and take the survey on paper, or on one of our GCPS computers. **

We Are Thankful!

As we prepare to take a short break from school for Thanksgiving, we want to express our gratitude for everyone who makes it possible for as many students as possible to come to school every day, on time, ready to learn.

We thank:

  • Our students and families for making daily attendance a priority since they know the habit of attendance will help them do well in the classroom and eventually in a job.

  • Our wonderful teachers who pour their energy into making each classroom an exciting place for exploration and knowledge so children do not want to miss out on learning.

  • Our support staff and community volunteers who provide the extra hands and attention our children need.

We appreciate each one of you so much. We look forward to seeing you after the Thanksgiving holiday. We also hope you will keep in mind that school is closed on Monday 11/25/19 and reopens Monday 12/2/19.

We especially appreciate everyone’s efforts to avoid taking extra days off during the Thanksgiving holiday. Just a few missed days here and there, even if they’re excused absences, can add up to too much lost learning time and leave your child behind in school. This is as true in kindergarten as it is in high school.

Holiday Lunches Are Coming!

Come one, come all

We'll have a ball

Please join us for this festive time

It'll cost a bit more than a dime.

But, to kick off the season,

Well, who needs a better reason?

Food, family, fun

So be sure to come.

Hope to see you there,

Bring $3 for lunch, it's more than fair.

Tue. 12/3: Pre-K, K @ 10:45 | 4th @ 11:30

Wed, 12/4: 2nd @ 10:45 | 1st @11:30

Fri, 12/6: 3rd @ 10:45 | 5th @ 11:30

Please note, due to spacing issues, we will only allow lunch visitors on your students designated day, as the students are eating lunch in their classrooms on the other days. The cost for lunch is $3 (please bring exact change if possible); If you prefer not to purchase a lunch, you are still more than welcome to join your student on his/her day.

Holiday Lunch Menu:

Holiday Turkey Supreme ( Turkey, Dressing & Gravy Casserole)

Macaroni & Cheese

Cranberry Sauce

Assorted Fruits and Vegetables

Parents with multiple students are encouraged to join each of their children on his/her designated day for some quality one on one time. That said, we realize this isn't always possible. If that is the case for your family, you may choose which of your children's days works best for your schedule, and then check your other student(s) out and have them join you. After lunch, you can check them back in and send them back to class; just be sure to let your child's teacher know in advance so they are aware.
