Weekly Message
Friday the 13th and a full moon can't defeat us! Thanks for all your hard work this week. Friday went very smoothly considering the superstitions we were battling:) I hope that you found joy in your work this week and that you have some time to recharge your batteries for next week. I appreciate how things just seem to run like clockwork. Everyone made the changes on the assembly schedule and came to the assembly prepared with a cheer. I have a great idea for future assemblies to help the cheer go better. I'll train the 8th graders to say, "Kindergarten, are you here? If you are let's hear your cheer!" Then they'll give the microphone to the teachers so you can prompt students to do what they have practiced.
I will be working on schedules this week and I will look at the year-long plans that the district has put out in this document: Elementary Year Long Plan. According to this plan, all elementary grade levels should have started their reading and/or writing units already. If your grade level is not intending to use this plan, please schedule a time to meet with Lindsay and I to talk about the plan you will use. I will be making the requested changes to the master schedule that have been sent to me. Please look over your grade level's schedule to make sure that it accurately reflects the times that you are teaching each subject. We use the master schedule to determine when we schedule observations throughout the year. If you need to make changes, please email them to Jennifer.
Our year has been successfully launched thanks to all of you working together. I'm looking forward to next week to get into more of a routine. I can't wait to see you all on Monday.
Warm regards,
Jennifer and Lindsay

TAG Observations and Testing
Additionally, it is required that you fill out the TAG planning sheet for each TAG student and present it to parents at the November conferences. Mary will let you know who your TAG students are.
TAG testing will take place the second week in November. Thanks for your attention to this.
