Upcoming Field Trip
Students were handed out a permission slip for a field trip to the College Basketball Experience. This trip will be for Mavericks students only. A copy of the permission slip and information is below; it is crutial that all permission slips are TURNED IN BY FRIDAY, APRIL 15TH so that reservations can be made.
Math : Students will find the distance between two points in a coordinate system using the Pythagorean Theorem.
Science :Today in science, students are doing a Kahoot review using the iPads. We are starting our review for the MAP test to refresh our memories about 6th and 7th grade science topics.
Social Studies- Students are researching specific Leaders of the Civil War and their place in history! Ex. General Grant, General Lee, Clara Barton
English Language Arts - Today we are reading and annotating chapter 6 of The Outsiders. Also, students are bringing home an article to annotate and answer questions about. We will use that article to guide discussions tomorrow; the next few weeks we will be reviewing for MAP prep, and this assignment is just one of the ways we will do so.

I-Ready The I-Ready program provides students with lessons and assessments to strengthen their knowledge Math and ELA concepts. The Math and ELA teachers use this program in class frequently, and will use the students' scores on the assessments that follow the lessons in their grade books. We strongly encourage students working on lessons at home if possible. The student username is the student's ID #@nkcschools.org (email@example.com, for example) and the password is the student's birthdate (MMDDYYYY).
