Message from your Proud Principal
It's our last push for the PTA Fundraiser! Be sure to reach out to family and friends to see if they would like to donate and help us to purchase more playground equipment for our kiddos. As of right now we have $29,900 and our goal is $35,000. If every student brings in an additional $6.16 we will make our GOAL and the administrators will engage in the 'Great Tricycle Race' up and down the hallways of the school. Just so you know...I am a little competitive and I plan on giving all three wheels my best effort!
Student Prizes:
$20 or more - treasure box mystery prize
$50 or more - Kona ice party plus a treasure box mystery prize
$100 or more - 800 Robux gift card and Glow in the Dark Party
$200 or more - Party Bus Ride to Peachtree Ridge Park for an Ice Cream party. Parents are welcome to join the fun for this crazy PTA field trip.
GRAND PRIZE - $500 Tricycle Race Against administrators & Throw a Pie at our principal or a willing teacher plus lead the morning announcements.
On a personal note, I wanted to share with you some sad news. My mother has been diagnosed with double duct pancreatic cancer. She will be undergoing surgery and chemotherapy to fight the disease. During her recovery I will be taking time to care for her and my father who is also in poor health.
The district office is working on the placement of a retired principal to serve as principal when I am not at school. The interim principal will ensure that all stakeholders are supported and along with Mrs. Tolar, Mrs. Philyaw, and the Parsons staff, he/she will make sure that our Parsons Lion Cubs continue to THRIVE!
I will be checking in on the days I am not at school and I will make sure that I make the date for the 'Great Tricycle Race' against Mrs. Tolar and Mrs. Philyaw.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
Proud Principal,
Mrs. Clark

Hispanic Heritage Month
As a school community, we celebrate our diversity and the impact we have on building cultural competency in our community. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we invite you to reflect on the power of our differences and the impact we can make when we unite with shared values and purpose. The national theme, Esperanza: A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage and Hope, challenges us to envision a great future knowing that our hope and resilience can lead us there. Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the achievements and contributions of Hispanic Americans. The observation started in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period starting on September 15 and ending on October 15. It was enacted into law on August 17, 1988. The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for the Latin American countries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18.
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we will students share on the morning announcements the achievements and acknowledgements of Hispanic Americans who have contributed to our Nation. We will also have students share about the Hispanic culture and points of pride about their culture.
