Holy Name Musicale

5-8th grade students have been working hard since Christmas rehearsing for their end of year Musicale concert.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions things will be a little different this year. In order to limit the number of people in the JCPC at any one time we are assigning grade levels a specific concert to which they can invite family members.

Please do not attend a concert assigned to other grade levels.

5-6th grade students may invite 2 family members to the 1pm dress rehearsal on May 12th.

7th grade students can invite 2 family members to the 7pm performance on May 14th.

8th Grade students may invite up to 4 family members to the 7pm performance on May 14th.

Chairs will be set in pairs throughout the JCPC for 5-7th grade families. These will be first come, first served seats. 8th Grade families will have assigned family seats. I will ask 8th grade students to confirm how many family members are attending closer to the time. 8th grade chairs will be marked clearly for families.

Please review the rehearsal and performance schedule below. We are asking ALL students to attend just one evening rehearsal. This rehearsal is a vital part of our preparation as it is our only opportunity to rehearse with Dr. Chrisman and the alumni band before we perform for an audience.

Monday May 10th - Evening Rehearsal with Dr. Chrisman and band
6:30-7:30pm – ALL 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, JCPC

Wednesday May 12th Dress Rehearsal only 5-6th grade families (2 each) attend
1:00pm – ALL 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, JCPC

Friday May 14th Evening show only 7-8th grade families attend w/live stream
6:40pm - 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th arrive to homerooms:
7:00 pm - start time in JCPC

More information including dismissal/pickup procedures, performance attire etc to follow.

We wish we could invite all Holy Name families to attend the evening performance and enjoy this tradition as a school community but we must follow guidelines and keep everyone safe.

Extended Care News

Our next early release day will be Thursday May 6 hours 2-5:30(6).

Our last day of Extended Care will be Wednesday May 19 hours 3-5:30(6).

Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us!

If you have any questions you can email Mrs. Miller.

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3rd - 7th. Please see the schedule below to see how you could volunteer your time, talents or treasure toward making this a great week to be a member of the Holy Name Community.
Teachers, you lift us UP!

Monday May 3rd – Wake UP! – Breakfast is served. Please see the SignUp Genius: www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0448AFA722A7F58-staff8

Tuesday May 4th – Soak it UP! – Let’s shower the teachers with notes of our appreciation, favorite memories or reasons why they make you smile.

Wednesday May 5th – Live it UP! – Let’s pamper the teachers with items they usually spend their own money on. Does your teacher have a favorite grading marker/pen, post-it note color, drink, snack or something in their classroom that needs replaced? Do you have any special lotions, soaps or soft bathroom items in your home bathroom that you wish were in your work bathroom? The teachers have 2 staff bathrooms you could supply.

Thursday May 6th – Read UP! – Let’s leave happy, uplifting or funny messages in sidewalk chalk all around Holy Name. If your teacher has a favorite saying, an inside joke, special bible verse, etc. let us know! We will make sure it gets put somewhere where they can find it. (Inclement weather might force us to move the messages to paper inside.) email: lisarizzi@hotmail.com

Friday May 7th – Eat UP! – The annual Cinco de Mayo luncheon for ‘Nacho’ ordinary staff. Please see the SignUp Genius: www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0448AFA722A7F58-teacherstaff1

To let the teachers and staff enjoy their lunch, can you help cover lunch and recess duty? Please see the SignUp Genius: www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0448AFA722A7F58-lunchrecess

Indiana's Tax Credit Scholarship

Indiana's Tax Credit Scholarship program was created in 2009 as a way to give families who meet income guidelines an opportunity to send their child to a participating private school. Through the generosity of Hoosiers, private donations are given as scholarships so students may attend a private school that may not have been an option to them otherwise.

The Institute for Quality Education (IQE) is the largest of six state-approved scholarship granting organizations (SGOs) in Indiana. Since the beginning of this program, SGOs have awarded over $45 million dollars in scholarships to more than 35,000 Hoosier students in partnership with more than 300 private schools statewide.

Without these important Tax Credit Scholarships, we have several families that would be unable to choose Holy Name for their children's education. This year we were blessed with the ability to award over $23,000 in scholarships to our Holy Name students. This is impossible without generous donors like you!

Individuals or businesses that donate to the SGO receive tax credits equal to 50% of the amount donated. Donate before the end of 2020 to receive this credit!
