Update and Upcoming Events
November 11, 2022
Hello PLES!
Thank you to Mr. Zimmerman who was our first Watch D.O.G. this year! Watch D.O.G.S. is an innovative program being used by schools nationwide to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and positive male role models. A Watch D.O.G. spends a day at PLES volunteering in classrooms, assisting in the lunch room, helping at arrival and dismissal, and participating at recess. If you are interested in learning more about the Watch D.O.G.S. program, please reach out to our caseworker, Mrs. Holly Oliver.
World Diabetes Day will be acknowledged on Tuesday, 11/15. Students and staff are encouraged to wear blue on Tuesday.
Please remember that if you are volunteering in school, your clearances must be up to date and on file with the district office. This is true for all adults even if you work in education or law enforcement. Please visit the volunteer section of the district website for more information. Thank you for your understanding in helping us keep our school safe!
Conferences begin on Monday. We are looking forward to sharing all the wonderful growth your student has made so far this year! Please contact your student’s teacher, if you need to schedule a conference.

Learning Spotlight
During guidance encore, students have been learning about how to be a problem solver. Ask your student what they can share with you about the problem solving wheel.
PBIS and Bucket Filling
This week on morning announcements we talked about how using manners is an easy way to fill someone’s bucket. Great manners were on display during our Thanksgiving lunch! Talk this weekend, how does your family use manners in the home?
PBIS rewards for November are dance party and bingo!
PTA Update
