MESSAGE FOR ADULT LEADERS, PROJECT LEADERS, ETC.
Marketing of 4-H is very important! As we prepare to move into the new 4-H year in October, please include on any fliers, social media posts or newspaper articles that you may submit to "advertise" for participation, that it is a 4-H related activity/club/practice/project discipline area. Or at very least, include the 4-H emblem (such as the one pictured).
For example, if you are recruiting for Shooting Sports, please include the information that your club is the Totally On Target 4-H Shooting Sports Club.....(Not just the Totally On Target Shooting Sports Club, for example.) Same for Robotics, Clover Kids, Horse Clubs, etc.
It is important that our community members, stakeholders, and local families and youth KNOW that the practices, events and activities taking place are in fact 4-H SPONSORED and led by committed, hard-working 4-H volunteers.
THANK YOU for helping "to make the best better!"
Important Membership Info for 2020-21
The new 4-H year will begin in October and youth may again (re)enroll through the ne.4honline.com website once the Nebraska State 4-H Office makes it available.
Please note, this year the Nebraska State 4-H Office will impose a statewide enrollment deadline date that will assist counties in having a consistent timeline for processing membership enrollments. Once that date is announced from the State 4-H Office, it will be released from the Extension Office.
What does this mean? ENROLL EARLY and don't miss the statewide deadline to be a Nebraska 4-H member! :-)
VIRTUAL "LIVING ROOM LEARNING"
THE BUZZ ON BEES
Free to Participate Online
Sep. 8, 2020
Time: 2:00 pm–3:00 pm CT
Honeybees are truly amazing insects. Could it be the complex set of bee roles and teamwork that exist in the beehive that have enabled them to adapt and survive for so long? Inside a hive, there is one queen bee, hundreds of drones (male bees), and tens of thousands of worker bees (female bees). Learn about the roles and responsibilities of these bees that help make the hive so successful. We will also do an activity to learn why honeybees use hexagons instead of triangles, squares, pentagons, or octagons to build their hive. For Registration Information and a list of supplies, Click HERE.
