Join us Nov. 8th for our annual TRU Love Benefit.

TRU and our Honoree Benefit Committee Michael Alden, Georgia Buchanan, Brent Buell, Doug Denoff, Lynn DiMenna, Sandi Durell, Jane Dubin, Dave Elliott, Patricia Klausner, Sidney Myer, Martin Platt, Tim Sanford, Ron Simons and Cheryl Wiesenfeld invite you to come celebrate the accomplishments of three dedicated theater professionals.

This eclectic event brings together the very different worlds of resident and commercial theater, rap and cabaret, and will be co-hosted by cabaret legend Sidney Myer of Don’t Tell Mama, and TV rapper Power Malu. It will include appearances by Jermaine Paul, winner of TV’s “The Voice,” Obie-winner Nikkole Salter (In the Continuum), acclaimed magician Todd Robbins (Play Dead), Howie Michael Smith (My Life Is a Musical) and cabaret singer Lynn DiMenna, with other performances tba, highlighting the achievements of the three honorees.

• Patrick Blake, recipient of the TRU Spirit of Theater Award.

For pushing politically relevant topics into the theatrical spotlight, championing diverse voices and embracing new audiences. And being a TRU mentor to so many.

• Teresa Eyring of Theatre Communications Group (TCG), recipient of the TRU Humanitarian Award.

For nurturing resident theaters countrywide, encouraging a more diverse, equitable field for developing new works that have nourished all theater.

• Linda Amiel Burns/The Singing Experience, recipient of the TRU Entrepreneur Award.

For helping thousands of individuals find their voice, their confidence and and their artistic identity for 38 years, at The Singing Experience. And being a TRU friend from the start.
