CHARACTER CORNER:
Thank you so much for continuing to honor and remind students of our six character traits( Respect, Responsibility, Effort, Kindness, Healthy Choices and Honesty) .
January's focus trait is Responsibility. Here at the Primary Elementary school we plan to rock responsibility!
Responsibility is . . .
Fixing your mistakes
Doing the right thing
Being accountable for your actions
Knowing what is expected
Doing what you said you would do
Stay tuned for more details on how we will rock responsibility. . .

Handwashing
This is just a reminder that with cold & flu season is upon us, It is important to give students time throughout the day to be washing hands. Giving students time to wash their hands mid-day (prior to going to lunch and recess) would be most helpful in slowing the spread of germs.
Thanks for considering this practice in an effort to keep our attendance from dropping.
PINEAPPLE CHARTS:
A pineapple is the universal sign of hospitality.
As many of you have heard me present the best PD can be getting in each others classrooms. In an effort to see the great things our colleagues are doing we will be designating a pineapple week per grade level. If your week is coming up you will receive an email over a week in advance in order to give you time to plan what you would like to put on the chart to allow others to come and see. Please remember nothing fancy just your everyday routine is a learning experience for those around you .
Once the chart appears in or around your house office you can start to put your name and times people are welcome in your classroom on the chart. By Friday of the pineapple chart arrival week you should start to be able to see what you would like to go and see in another classroom. If a time does not work with your planning times please reach out for support in your classroom. Keep in mind we can share staff such as, teach for each other or utilize aide support for a short time to allow everyone a chance to visit desired rooms.
Finally, consider starting simple with ELA Block or small group math etc. Once we take the plunge and get this started I believe we will see many benefits.
Grade 1 will be visiting classrooms the week of January 29th - February 2. The chart will be up starting the week of January 22nd giving plenty of time to sign up and plan what you might like to see!
FROM LYNN PIERCE-MOREY:
I am looking for someone to loosely supervise a student and an academy student 1x per week, day of the week is not set, hoping to secure some supervision from 3:30-3:50pm. It is a student who would probably like to use the gym when available and would require someone to go with them to the gym.
Please let me know if anyone is interested.
