Great start to the year!
It has been great to see students back in action! Lots of activities are already taking place. If you are new to LAHS, I try to send these New Feeds out at least once a month. There is a lot of information, dates, reminders and more to communicate. Still, a lot of things happen behind the scenes that are posted in the student's Class of XXXX G-Classroom or a quick post to Facebook. I included contact information above. Please reach out if you have any questions. Other ways of communication are listed below.
If your student is going to be absent please be sure to call or email Ms. Brittany Doiron. Attendance is important. It is State Law that a student can not miss more than 10% of a semester, even with doctor notes. The district has some discretion if doctor notes are provided but those absences still go against the district. If a student misses 9 or more days in one hour-a semester- they will lose credit. If that class is a required course for graduation, they will have to retake that course at a later date. Please be aware of your child's absences. They can be monitored on your parent portal. Provide doctors notes when possible and communicate with Ms. Doiron.
Today, eligibility has been run for the first time. Know that there are minimal grades in the gradebook since school recently started. If a student is missing even one assignment, they could have a low grade. Student grades can also be found on your parent portal.
We all are looking forward to a great school year. A lot of opportunities are available for your student to get involved in school activities, sports, clubs/organizations. I hope they are listening to the daily announcements and seeking them out.

OSU Family Day
Dear Families,
GEAR UP is excited to share an exciting opportunity for your 11th & 12th grade families to attend the OSU Orange Friday and the Oklahoma State vs. Kansas State football game on October 6th!
You and your student(s) will learn about college-going culture and vocabulary, scholarships and FAFSA, experience the OSU campus, enjoy the excitement of an upcoming gameday, mingle with other future Cowboys and get an overall feel of what life is like on Orange Fridays, and top off the day attending the Oklahoma State vs. Kansas State football game.
Students must attend with a legal guardian and may bring 2 additional family members to this event.
After completing a campus tour with OSU, families will receive up to 4 tickets to the Oklahoma State vs. Kansas State game!
Space is first come, first serve! You may register using the QR code on the attached flier or follow this link: K20.ou.edu/osu-familyday. Registration deadline is September 16th.

Policy in requesting transcripts
As of May 2022, transcript requests are to be requested through Parchment. Click here to request.
Please do not email or phone in a request.
Mrs. Harp sent another email to the junior and senior students that have not signed up for a Parchment account that includes the code they need for Little Axe High School. Each student has their own code.
