  • Please make sure your child is only using their device for school related tasks. And keeping it away from younger siblings and animals to help it from being damaged.

Class Photos

We will be taking class photos this year like we have in the past. We are going to line all the kids up and get everything set. At the last moment right before the photos is taken we are going to have the students take their masks off. If you want your child to leave their mask on please let the child know and also let the teacher know. Students are welcome to keep their masks on in the photo.

Dismissal Changes

Beginning March 1, TODAY we are beginning our new dismissal process. Our goal is always safety for our students. In addition to that we are trying to get cars off the street. We sent home a flier with everyone on Friday. We will be bringing you into the parking lot and wrapping around a bit to clear off the street. It is always important to drive slow, and watch for students as you are backing up, and pulling away. Thank you for helping us make this a good transition.

Tecumseh Local School App

Please take a minute and download the App to your phone. This will help you stay connected to what is going on in our district and school. Thank you.

You can NOW add your student absences on the APP too. Go to the App, then to NCES, then choose Forms. Fill it out and it goes directly to the office staff. It is available 24 hours a day.

This is a very handy way to have this at your fingertips.

Instagram

NCES has an Instagram account. Please follow us to see the fun and educational happenings at New Carlisle Elementary School. Tell your friends and family to join us too. I try to post pictures almost daily.

Students back to school 5 Days a Week!

March 1st will be our first full week of coming to school all week since March of 2020. We are so excited to have our students back full time, in person. Our teachers are working diligently to work with all students and their needs.

If you have any questions please reach out to the office so we can help.

Twitter

New Carlisle Elementary has a Twitter page. Feel free to join @ArrowsNces, to see what is going on at NCES.

Conferences

This past week we finally were able to have our Parent / Teacher Conferences. Thank you to the parents that came to conferences virtually or in person. We really appreciate your time and you showing your child the importance of their education. You are showing your child how much you value education by checking in with their teacher.

If you were not able to meet with your child's teacher please reach out if you have questions. Many teachers meet with parents through a Google Meet. That might be a good way to touch base with your child's teacher.

You are always welcome to call the office if you have questions.

Positive Referrals

The students at NCES are able to receive positive referrals from staff for going above and beyond. We are so proud of our students who have earned positive referrals during the month.

When students receive a positive referral their photo is taken, the receive a bracelet, candy or a pencil. Additionally, students receiving positive referrals are honored as we hang their photo in the hallway of each student receiving a positive office referral and these students are also honored on our morning announcements which can be viewed on our Youtube channel, and their pictures scroll on the TV in the office. It is really exciting for our students.

  • Check out the LINK here to watch the slideshow.

We are up to 139 Positive Referrals!! WAY TO GO KIDS!!!! You are the good example for others! Keep it up the great work.

Tecumseh Education Connection

The Education Connection is a telephone number that you can call 24-hours a day to listen to your child’s homework assignments, report your child’s absence, hear the lunch menu, find out the scores of the big game, hear about school closings and leave a private message for a staff member.

You will still need to call your child in if they will not be attending school, or doing their online work for the day. We will still need to document attendance. We are marking students with green, yellow and red attendance.

Please use the TEC number for:

  • Calling your child in sick.
  • Leave a voicemail with questions.
  • 937-845-4483

Latchkey

We now have Latchkey at NCES. Please take advantage of the fun and learning that takes place each and every day in our Latchkey Program. It is open from 7:00am.- 5:30 pm daily for your convenience.

Arrival and Dismissal at NCES

Arrival - Please drop off all students at the front door by 8:30 to make a shuttle bus. Students are not able to enter the building prior to 8:30. If your child is having breakfast they can also enter at this time. If your child is NOT eating breakfast at school they can arrive at 8:55.

Dismissal - All students will be picked up using the curb lane. This is a safety concern for our students. It is also another way to continue social distancing.

Thank you for your cooperation. Our students safety is our highest concern.

Boxtops for Education

Please continue to send in Boxtops for Education. We use these funds to help buy items for the children to help support their activities that take place here at NCES. Please keep saving and sending the Boxtops and Campbell’s label proofs into school as you collect them.
