Course Selection Information
Course selections were sent home last week. It's important to note that this is NOT your students' schedule, but it is a list of the courses that they are signed up to take next year.
If you haven't already done so, please review these immediately and make any changes by emailing the counselors (Meghin_Huerta@lagovista.txed.net and Elanna_Hylander@lagovista.txed.net) or using the google form below:
All optional changes to course selections must be made by May 21 (the last day of school).

We need your Feedback on Digital Learning
Specifically,
How has the workload been for your student? Too little? Too much?
Does your student feel like they have ample support from their teachers? If not, what suggestions do you have?
Any other feedback on how the process is going so far.
Please let us know by following the link to the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2KBX568.
Important stuff in last week's newsletter (in case you missed it):
(If no students have shown for an office hours session after 15 minutes, teachers will discontinue the session.)
How to Access Office Hours Via Google Hangouts
It is important that students use their school email address when trying to get into a Google Hangout room so that teachers can identify who they are letting into the Hangout.
If your student has forgotten, their school email address is firstname_lastname@lvisd.com. Their password is sixdigitschoolid#Vikings.
Reminder - If no students have shown for an office hours session after 15 minutes, teachers will discontinue the session.
Please email tech@lvisd.com if you have questions or issues accessing a teacher's hangout.
Non-TEKS based course, such as Office Aide and Learning Lab, are considered complete for the year. Students' 3rd nine weeks grades will serve as their grade for the 2nd semester.

Does your student need emotional support? Self-Care Guidance? Someone to talk to?
Our counselors would love to hear from them!
Mrs. Huerta's Google voice phone number: 512-677-9685
Mrs. Hylander's Google Voice number: 512-677-9736
In addition, here is the counseling website where you can find resources, including a Self-Care journal to use during this stressful time: http://www.lagovistaisd.net/page/lhs.Counselor%20Corner
Take care of yourselves, Vikings!
(Reminder - due to the after school workload associated with advanced courses, it is recommended students limit the number of AP, Pre-AP, and OnRamps courses to no more than 3.)
Having issues with your student's iPad?
Need internet access or an ipad? Read here!
Part of our instructional approach also includes providing equitable access to both devices and the Internet to students who may not have these resources readily available. Last week, the District distributed over 200 devices through our iPad Lending Program. If you did not request an iPad prior to the deadline last week, please email tech@lagovista.txed.net so that a request form may be sent to you.
For families that are unable to secure their own Internet access, the District has ordered a LIMITED number of WiFi hotspots that will be prioritized for students receiving free & reduced lunch. At this time, there is a delay in delivery due to nationwide demand and it is possible that we may not have enough hotspots available to meet demand.
If your family has been unable to secure access to the Internet and you would like to request a WiFi hotspot through our lending program, please submit a request form below (one per household). We will release more information about the distribution of these after they arrive in the District. **Please note that submitting a request form does not guarantee that the District will be able to provide you with a WiFi hotspot.**
https://forms.gle/8E1CJAKAJkmySQMPA
Until WiFi hotspots are delivered or if there are not enough to meet the demand, printed take-home lesson module packets and paper-based assignment submission will be made available at our drive-thru meal service for those who continue to lack access to the Internet beginning April 20th.
