Delay in Return to In-Person Instruction for K-2
Greetings Eagle Academy,
Last week I announced that we were delaying the start of in-person instruction for our K-2 students until the tentative date of Monday, Nov. 30th. In light of recent surge in positivity rates in Anchorage and around the state, Dr. Bishop has announced a delay to the districts planned return date with no determination of a new return date.
The ASD School Board will be considering a change to the 2020-21 school year calendar that includes the possibility of suspending instruction until the beginning of the new year. At this point, not much is known about the action item. It is likely that Monday's meeting will include more information and hopefully specifics about the proposed change.
I will be working with the Director of Charter Schools and Elementary Education to determine the impact, if any of the boards decision and whether or not we will be able to resume in-person instruction on November 30th. Please stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
Until then Eagle Academy will continue to provide virtual instruction in the current format.
Thank you so much your patience and understanding as we work though these challenging times. The teachers, staff, and I appreciate all the time and effort you have been putting in to maintain academic instruction and consistency for our students at home. It is truly amazing.
Family Stories Month rolls around in November just in time for the holidays. When families gather it’s an excellent time to share stories and learn about family history. Throughout the month Family History Month encourages you to record or listen to stories from relatives of all ages.
There are numerous anecdotes of adventure, travel, and romance in our family’s past. Whether we spin a humorous tale or an epic history of a whole branch of the family, record the information in a format that can be shared with future generations.
Enjoy the time with family and making more stories to share during Family Stories Month!
