Message from the Principal

Dear Advantage Arts Family,

This school year has been a great one! I appreciate the wonderful things we have been able to accomplish. I stepped in as the principal of the school in November, and I was quickly amazed by the incredible families, students, faculty, and staff we have here at Advantage Arts. I hope everyone has a fantastic Summer. In our last week, we hope to close this chapter of your students' educational journey, and we start looking forward to the next year.

We hope to see everyone back in the Fall. Please keep checking emails over the Summer for any possible activities or information for the beginning of next school year.

Mr. Kano

Field Day

All students may wear t-shirts and shorts that are school appropriate. They will be getting a bit wet and may want a change of clothes. No swimsuits! Please please please sunscreen!!

Wednesday, May 25th:

1st and 2nd grade will be from 9:30-11am

3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will be from 1:30-3pm.

Again, parent volunteers will need to arrive about 30min before to be assigned stations and help with set-up. We will meet outside the gym in the field.

We still need a few more donations if possible:

- Footballs

- Small buckets or trash cans (they will hold water for our pass-the-sponge game)

- Agility ladders (for an obstacle course)

- Parachutes

- Spray bottles (to be used instead of water guns)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

If you have any additional questions, please reach out!

The Music, Art and violin Concert were such a huge success! Thank you ALL!

Thank you to EVERYONE who donated and volunteered for this event!!!! We were so happy to put this event on with just school staff and all of you and your amazing students. For our first year putting it on ourselves we learned so much and had so much fun! The kids loved it so much and so did our staff! The top donations for each class were able to go to the library and pick prizes and were so cute! It is so much fun to watch their face light up when they got the prizes they wanted!

Thank you all for your donations and help! We can not wait to do it again next year! Here are some more pictures from the color run and the prizes in the library!

Households Must Apply for Free or Reduced-price Lunch by May 6 . To Be Eligible for Pandemic EBT

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah households will need to apply for free or reduced-price meal benefits with their local school no later than May 6 to be potentially eligible for pandemic EBT (P-EBT). P-EBT can help individuals purchase food if their children have temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price meals due to school closures from COVID-related emergencies, or other COVID-related school absences during the 2021-2022 school year. To qualify for P-EBT, individuals must be signed up for free or reduced-price school meals.

During the 2021-22 school year, all students, regardless of income status, can receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each day they attend school.

However, this does not qualify students for P EBT, nor does it automatically give students free-reduced status. To determine the free-reduced status of a student, individuals must apply through their school.

Individuals can find information on how to contact their local school at:

Please visit for more information on the P-EBT program.

Center Stage

Collage Artworks

This was the last week of art classes for most of our students. The students recycled scrap papers for this final project by cutting or tearing pieces of paper and gluing them down to another paper to create an image. Students were encouraged to make something to represent one of their favorite things or to illustrate an animal in the style of Eric Carle. Students had fun using paper like a marker to fill in their whole papers.
