St Bernadette's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 9 | 16 September 2022
Message from Geordie
I hope you and your children are all surviving swimming lessons and the business of the end of term. Our teachers are keeping the fun and learning going right to the end of term and we hope to see you all here on Tuesday night for the Open Night.
I would like to take the opportunity to say good luck to our Enrichment students who have made it to the State Finals of the Creative Edge Competition tomorrow. This is an amazing achievement, and we are very proud of how they work as a team. I would also like to congratulate the Interschool Cross Country Team who won the APPS shield for small schools yesterday. Our students all represented St Bernie’s with pride and displayed excellent sportsmanship!
One week to go! Can I ask all our parents to chat to their children about making Week 10 a positive, fun and happy end to the term. We will be talking to the students about dealing with their emotions appropriately, even when they are tired. We would appreciate it if you supported this at home too.
A reminder that next Thursday is now a public holiday and that the last Friday of term we will have a Footy Colours Day. We will also have popcorn supplied by the P&F and our Environmental Ministry for a gold coin donation.
Enjoy the weekend
P&F Sausage Sizzle
There will also be a Coffee Van for that much needed caffeine boost!
Interschool Cross Country
Well done to all of our Bernie’s students who represented our school yesterday in the Interschool Cross Country. You all did an amazing job and should be very proud of yourselves, we sure are extremely proud of you all!!
A big congratulations to Ruby R who came first for Year 3 girls and congratulations to the Year 3 boys who won overall winners in Year 3 boys division.
St Bernadette’s also came away with the shield based on average points/per student system. Amazing effort! Thank you to Mrs Cairns and Miss Williamson for preparing the students in afterschool running club!
A big, big thank you to Mrs Buttafuoco, Mrs Retallack and Mr Sturgeon for helping on the day, we really appreciate it.
Due to the public holiday next Thursday 22nd, we will not be able to complete certain events as per last school newsletter. These events will take place during students PE lessons, leading up to the Athletics Carnival in Term 4.
