Game On! Let's Create Champions!
- Our theme for this year is Game On! Let's Create Champions!
- LVES Mission: We are here to build relationships to positively impact all student learning.
- LVES Vision: Lewisville Elementary students will become intrinsically motivated to learn and thrive academically and socially.
Take a moment and reflect on what our mission and vision mean to you? What impact do these statements have on what you do each and every day? I look forward to listening to your thoughts when I see you around campus.

What: Upcoming Social Studies Observances
House Bill 1501 requires the observance of one minute of silence at the beginning of the first period of the school day to commemorate the events of September 11. The minute of silence may be held in conjunction with a regular minute of silence, but the bill also states that immediately before the period of observance, the class instructor "shall make a statement of reference to the memory of individuals who died on September 11, 2001."
To comply with the law, every classroom teacher should read the attached statement at the beginning of first period annually each September 11 and immediately lead students in one minute of silence. The statement must be made by teachers in individual classrooms, not over the P.A. system. A separate regularly scheduled minute of silence is not required.
Statement to be read BY classroom teachers:
English: September 11th is known as Patriot Day. On this day we remember the people who made brave choices and showed great courage as our country was attacked on September 11th, 2001. The United States is proudly known as "the land of the free and the home of the brave." As we observe a minute of silence on this day let us remember these people who were brave 18 years ago, and focus on how we can be brave and have courage as we make choices today.
