Incident on Campus Today
One of the teachers in the building was popping popcorn in conjunction with a lesson about the letter P and it burned. The smoke set off a fire alarm at the end of the Genesis hallway. We immediately put our evacuation procedures in motion. All students were evacuated and accounted for in less than two minutes. The fire department arrived on scene and carefully checked and cleared the building so that we were able to resume classes.
Most students were unaware and assumed it was on of our fire drills that we conduct monthly; although, some students in the classrooms near the area did notice the burnt smell upon returning to the building. We practice safety procedures regularly, and we are very proud of how quickly and smoothly we were able to evacuate and account for the safety of all students, faculty and staff.
Sincerely,
CtRCS Administrative Team
