Frederick Douglass was an African American social reformer, orator, writer, and equality leader. After escaping from slavery, he became a leader of the abolitionist movement, gaining supporters for his antislavery writing. Frederick Douglass didn't just want rights for his race but for women too. This is why he was the first black person to be nominated Vice President
Edward Covey
Edward also know as "slave breaker" nearly damaged Douglass mentally and physically. But in a physical fight Douglass won and Covey never beat him again.
