My Family
My family is the Halogens! We have always been very close so let me introduce you to them. There is Fluorine (F), Me (Chlorine, Cl), Bromine (Br), Iodine (I), Astatine (At), and our weird cousin Ununseptium (Uus).
Being a halogen means a lot, but especially that we are very reactive. My family and I have 7 valence electrons, and we only need one more to become as good as the noble gases.
Halogen literally means "Salt producing". When one of us reacts with a metal, we make many different types of salt. We are also the only group in the periodic table that has elements in gas, liquid, and solid states of matter. We are a big loving family in the Halogen group!
