TEACHER SPOTLIGHT
Mrs. Freeman
She has been married to her best friend for 17 years. They have four biological children ages 14, 12, 10, and 8 and they foster two children ages 11 years and 17 months. They have several pets including two dogs, a hamster, and a partridge in a pear tree (ha ha ha). Mrs. Freeman says, "life is wonderfully busy with my organized chaos but I wouldn't change it for anything!" Did you know Mrs. Freeman danced tap and jazz for 14 years? In life her favorite of the 7 Habits for highly effective people is Habit 1: be proactive because you are in control of your actions and taking responsibility for what needs to be done. She said, "this creates and maintains positivity and enables you to keep yourself in check."
One thing Mrs. Freeman is excited about this year is engaging in Project Based Learning (PBL) with her class. She hopes to provide a level of enrichment in her students' learning through various PBLs. What gets Mrs. Freeman going is when she is helping others; this is her passion. She also loves gardening, painting, running, and spending time with her family.
TEACHER SPOTLIGHT
Mrs. Haggins
Mrs. Haggins is married to her husband, Anthony, and has two sons, Jackson and Miles. She enjoys crafting and making things. I bet Mrs. Haggins can't wait to use our STEAM lab and Makerspace with her students! An interesting fact about her is that she has been a teacher in two different states, Georgia and California. Whoa!
Mrs. Haggins' favorite habit of the 7 Habits for highly effective people is Habit 2: Begin With the End In Mind. One thing she is very excited about this year is learning and growing as a classroom community.
