Week 7

This week we are starting with week 7 and working on Unit 4, La Tierra. Students need to note that this Unit has 5 lessons and they will be working on lessons 1 and 2 this week and lessons 3, 4 and 5 next week. Just a reminder that as we continue to go through the semester specific assignments are due each week. Students only have to attend one RLC every two weeks, but are encouraged to attend more than one per unit if they want to. Please speak with your student and make sure he or she has completed all assignments through Unit 3 this past Friday. In addition, students will be doing a Final project for Unit 3/4 next week where they combine the two units. Please encourage your student to start thinking about this project and contact me if they have questions or need ideas. Below is a list of what is due by this Friday, March 10.

Students have 2 opportunities to attend an RLC for Unit 4 this week and 3 opportunities next week. Please help your student plan accordingly and put an RLC for Unit 4 this week (or next) in his/her agenda. If a student is unable to attend an RLC, the link to my recorded RLC session will be available after the last live RLC. I am teaching an RLC for Unit 4 NEXT Monday, March 13 @ 8pm!

Culture Cafe for Extra Credit

Below is a list of the various Culture Cafe sessions offered for students this week. Students can go to their Home page on Canvas, scroll through the modules and click on The Culture Cafe (see photo at the top right) for a detailed list of future Culture Cafe sessions and how to log into the session. During the Culture Cafe session, students take notes and after attending the Culture Cafe session, students will complete a reflection about the class and submit it for extra credit.

Students can attend any of the cultural topics below. It does not have to be about Spanish.

Would your student benefit from a Virtual Buddy?

Is your student enrolled in multiple courses and struggling to manage it all?

Is your student still struggling to figure out how to navigate through CANVAS?

Does your student need help with due dates?

Virtual Buddies are ready to help by lending a hand to students needing an extra little push, another reminder, a bit of time management guidance or encouraging words throughout the week.

***Do keep in mind, Virtual Buddies do not provide content specific support.
