Our faculty recently spent the day learning from a guest speaker who is helping them continue to implement Trailblazer Time in their classrooms.

Trailblazer Time is a time for community-building and student support that is built into the beginning, middle, and end of the school day. Trailblazer Time is based on the CREW framework. To learn more, head to

Professor Rikki Brons has completed her research focused on language learning opportunities at the elementary level. We are so thankful that she chose SCCS as her research site. Rikki was able to identify key elements for successful implementation of a language learning program for our school’s context. She was also able to identify key structural obstacles to address prior to implementation.

Rikki has developed research-based recommendations that the board of trustees will take under consideration for the next strategic plan coming this fall.

If you are interested in hearing more about her project and the potential implications for SCCS, you are invited to attend a presentation at 7:00 PM on Monday, Feb. 22 in the orchestra room at school or via Zoom.
