WEEKLY ARTICLE
- Our Fun Run will be powered by the Boosterthon Fun Run, a fun organization that organizes Fun Runs all over the country. This year 2,900 schools like ours will run their fun run through Boosterthon. We’re excited for their expertise and making this EASY on everyone involved—including you!
- Our Fun Run also comes with a world-class character theme. This year’s theme is MINDSPARK MYSTERY LAB, combining S.T.E.A.M skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) with character-building. While they're teaming up with the MindSpark Kids to solve mysteries, our students will learn five 21st-century character traits that will help strengthen themselves and our world.
- Through this year’s Fun Run, our school goal is to raise $18,000 for Genius Hour and activities involving STEM. Teachers, we need YOUR help!
- Teacher Action Steps during the program:
- 1. Check funrun.com, daily
- Promote pledging, daily
- HAVE FUN!

STUDENT PASSWORD RESET
Over the weekend, the synchronization process of district user accounts encountered issues. Due to these issues, all student passwords were reset . This issue has limited the ability for students to access systems Including Google, Canvas, Summit and any Google connected systems. Aspen X2 account and passwords were not impacted.
As a result, all student passwords have been set to their birthdate in the format of YYYYMMDD ex: 20120831. Two digits for month and day are required. In cases of months January through September and days 1 through 9, a leading zero must be used. ex: 01.
On Tuesday September 11, 2018,please assist your students in logging in and changing their password to a more secure password of their choice.

EMAIL ETIQUETTE
- Does more than one person need to know the email was responded to?
- Will the other recipients be confused if they don’t see me respond?
- Does the email impact 70% of people on the chain?
Be mindful of length. Lengthy emails should as a rule be avoided. They should be short, sweet and to the point. Anything more than 2 large paragraphs should probably be discussed over the phone or in person.
Proofread Read it multiple times and check for typos that might not have flagged up. If you are still unsure, ask a trusted person to proofread it for you or copy paste it in word.
C.C wisely. Use the CC feature when necessary and remember to include everyone that needs to be kept up-to-date and informed. If you need someone to follow-up with an action, you should state this clearly in the email using their name.
Leave the message thread and avoid using capitals. WHEN YOU USE CAPITALS, NO MATTER WHAT YOU WRITE, IT READS AS IF YOU ARE SHOUTING. Please, please leave the capitals out but remember to include the thread. This allows the recipient to go back to what has been said without them rummaging through their emails to find it.End on a good note. A personal message or note at the end is always uplifting – make sure you end your email on a positive note like, ‘Have a nice day
