News from Principal Lamothe
Hello PRS Wizards,
We had some firsts this week some being exciting to share while others not so much:
-We had our first indoor recess due to the frigid cold wind-chill this week
-Our school Council met to discuss budget and they were helpful and informative with the questions asked as we go into the budget season
-We had our Winter Concert live, in person with family and the whole school community was in the cafe and was able to watch, listen and enjoy. This hasn't been done since 2019.
Our 5th graders had their Winter Concert today and they were fantastic. I have been able to walk through and see their first introductions to how to hold and instrument and have it make a squeak to today's concert where they all sang or played in harmony. We are so proud of our fifth grade musicians.
Friday, December 23rd Information
As we are coming upon winter break at the end of next week we would like to share some important information with you.
1. If you are planning on dismissing your child on Friday, December 23rd, that dismissal must be made by 1:30. After 1:30 all students will be in the auditorium for the annual tradition of the PRS sing-a-long. Please plan your dismissal according as from 1:30 - 2:30 we will not be able to pull your child out of the cafeteria.
2. Kindergarten and First grade parents - If you are coming to all school meeting to see your child perform you will be able to dismiss them straight from the cafeteria. In order to do so please provide a note in the morning to their teacher so we have advanced notice.
Dear Families: Please be advised that we are seeing an uptick in cases of Flu, strep throat, stomach viruses and other communicable illnesses. One of the most important things to do, along with frequent handwashing and covering coughs and sneezes, is to please keep your child home when they are sick. Please be aware that students must be fever-free (without fever reducing medications) and/or no vomiting or diarrhea for at least 24 hours before returning to school. A fever is defined as a temperature of 100.4F or higher.
When reporting an absence due to illness, please inform us about the nature of the illness or if your child has been diagnosed with a communicable illness such as the flu, strep or COVID 19.
Thank you for your help and cooperation in keeping our students and our school healthy!

Food Services will be phasing out the sale of single use water bottles. Once the current inventory is gone we will no longer sell 8oz waters. There is a filtered water hydration station available right in the cafeteria for any student that would need water.
