COVID-19 Website Update
Wednesday 27 April 2022
Dear Families of Mary's Mount Primary School
Yesterday, the WA Government announced a significant easing of restrictions. Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA) and WA Health will produce updated operating guidelines which will come into effect in Week 2 of this term on Monday 2 May 2022. Week 1 will continue with current operating guidelines which were outlined earlier this week.
Mask Wearing
Please ensure your child in Year 3-6 continues to wear a mask for the remainder of this week. On Monday 2 May, and into the future, staff and students may opt to continue wearing masks as a personal choice.
Mask wearing is encouraged where physical distancing is not possible. Masks remain mandatory on public transport and in shared transport, and in other specified settings such as airports and hospitals.
Current Operating Guidelines
With the easing of restrictions in Term 2, we seek to return to as normal a program as possible in a safe and measured way.
Mother's Day Prayer Service and Morning Tea - Friday 6 May
- Once CEWA has provided updated guidelines we will communicate how the Mother's Day Prayer Service and Morning tea will run. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we wait directive.
- Staff, students and parents must stay home when sick or symptomatic.
- Washing hands regularly for 20 seconds with soap and water or an alcohol-based sanitiser, including prior to meal breaks.
- Covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, using a flexed elbow or tissue.
Self-Reporting of Results
Please continue to use the self-reporting portal to record COVID-19 results via this link for all positive student cases. If your child has a positive RAT result, you need to register via the WA Health RAT Register.
Although restrictions are easing, COVID-19 remains at high levels in the community and, for some of us, it is still a very anxious time. If you or your child need support, advice or assistance, please be in touch.
Wishing you all a safe and rewarding Term 2.
Warm regards
Emma Bell
