Who was Harry Truman
Harry Truman was born on May 8, 1884, that was 131 years ago! When Harry was young, he got glasses that most boys didn’t get , because boys were rough and might break the glass, and cut their eyes. Without the glasses he might not have become president. Then, Harry decided to fight for America in World War I. After the war, Harry got married to Bess on June 28, 1919. On February 17, 1924 Mary Margaret was born(Harry’s only child). After World War II, Harry Truman died on December 26, 1972. Harry was 88 years old when he died.

Harry sent soldiers to fight Japan. In August, 1945, Harry ordered two atomic bombs to drop on Japan, ending the war.
Impact On the World
Harry Truman ended World War II by dropping two atomic bombs on Japan, and that was one of his best accomplishments ever! He stopped fighting everywhere! Yes, people died when the atomic bombs were dropped, but then, people in the army stopped dying.
