Parent Academy Success
We had an excellent Parent Academy session on Feb 11th. The students, parents, learned about communication skills and Social, emotional, and behavioral supports. We would like to thank Youth Advocacy and want to see the following events.

SATURDAY SCHOOL
HSE offers free tutorials on Saturdays from 8:30 am- 12:00 pm. These sessions provide support to students who did not demonstrate content mastery on last year's STAAR exams. If your child receives a Saturday School Tutorial Notice in the mail, he/she did not pass last year's STAAR exam(s), and he/she is strongly encouraged to attend these sessions. If your child receives a notice and there is a weekend when he/she cannot attend, please provide a written excuse to Ms. Rosenberg by the following Monday.
Upcoming Saturday School dates are January 25th, February 1st, February 8th, February 22nd, February 29th, March 7th, March 28th, April 4th, April 18th, April 25th, and May 2nd.

HPS Grow Your Own Teacher Education Assistance Program
Harmony Grow Your Own Teacher Educational Assistance program application process began today, October 1st, 2019. Attached is the GYOT flyers. We are using the same GYOT poster we had from previous years (Deadline needs to be corrected :). They are sent to your campuses by CCS coordinators.

GYOT Things To Do:
- Place GYOT Poster and Flyers in areas around your campus and campus social media accounts where they are highly visible to high school seniors and alumni.
- Arrange a time for your campus CCS advisor and coordinator to make individual, small group or classroom GYOT recruitment presentation to seniors.
- Communicate with your campus star teachers who can assist you to identify the talents among seniors and alumni who are the best fit for the program.
- Create a campus newsletter for your campus seniors' parents to know this opportunity
- Reach out to your campus alumni who might have interest and skills for education career
We are super excited about this upcoming cycle and look forward to receiving a great number of applications! Our CEO, Mr. Ay, gave us a very ambitious goal of 300 applications for this year to search for homegrown talents across Harmony which is 3 times higher than last year.

Some GYOT Impact History:
Since the program started, we had 17 GYOT program graduates and 15 of them are still inspiring our students every day. There are currently more than 30 active participants in the program.

A week at Texas McCombs
The McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin invites top high school students to apply for our McCombs summer programs! Our week-long, all-expenses paid summer programs are designed to help students explore and discover opportunities in business while experiencing life as a Longhorn.
Participants have the opportunity to:
- Spend a week at top-ranked Texas McCombs
- Learn about careers in business and network with industry professionals
- Attend classes taught by world-renowned faculty
- Work on a team as a business consultant to a real company
- Make new friends and explore the Forty Acres
- Experience living in a campus dorm
Program Dates:
McCombs Future Executive Academy (MFEA): May 31 – June 5, 2020
McCombs Discover Yourself in Accounting Majors and Careers (DYNAMC): June 21 – 26, 2020
All current juniors and sophomores with GPAs of 3.5 or above are eligible to apply. Outstanding Black, African-American, Latinx, Native American and Indigenous students, first-generation students, and students who have overcome social or economic hardship are strongly encouraged to apply.
Students are required to submit an online application, essay, one letter of recommendation, an official high school transcript and an optional resume by our April 1, 2020 deadline.
