Big picture

Our topic

Our topic for the term is Traditional Tales.

Here is a summary of what the children will be learning across the curriculum.

Literacy

Our key texts this half term are The Gingerbread man and The Three Little pigs. We will use this texts to explore instructions, and letters. We will also contiiune to learn how to write simple stories by adapting ones we learn off by heart. We will continue to have daily phonics and Dough Disco. We will also continue with our hold a sentence sessions.

A big focus this term is using our phonic knowledge to spell and to write simple sentences with capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

Mathematics

This half term we will be learning to recognise and count teen numbers. We will order and find missing numbers as well as double and half numbers to 10. We are also learning to recognise coins and their value.

Topic

In topic we will be learning how to use different media to create for a purpose. We will be ceating our own paper scultpures and do a study on the artist Kandinsky.
