What's Happening at DATA
This week is our first round of state testing!
This Tuesday is English I EOC and then English II EOC is this Thursday. I am confident that our students are prepared to not only meet state standards but will exceed standards. Our students have all been working diligently to increase their reading and writing skills and taking those skills to the next level. Students have practiced how to identify and respond to questions on the test so that they are prepared to do their best. All testing this year is online and there is not a time limit; all students have until the end of the day. As a reminder, during testing, students are not allowed to have their cell phone with them at their desk or in their pockets, all electronic devices must be turned off and in their backpack (this includes "smart" watches.)
Please do your best to not schedule any appointments for your student during any state testing (see dates at the bottom of the newsletter.) Students will have to then miss a day of instruction to make up the test that they missed.
It was great to see so many DATA students being inducted into the Science National Honor Society last week. Not only are they "Creating the Future Through Design" they are being change agents in the field of science and inquiry. Take a look below at some of the cool science fair projects that students had on display last Friday.
DATA Video Production students also placed 2nd for their poster with BexarFest! We are patiently waiting to see if DATA has been accepted to compete in Cinefestival this summer.
Next up we have our Architecture students and their entry for Barkitecture!
Great things are always happening at DATA!
Have a great week!
Until next time,
Mrs. Szabo

The team will participate in the Smash Bros finals on the 30th for R20.
TR Women's Equality Club
"Today, the Women's Equality Club had the opportunity to visit SWBC and engage with the inspiring women and men making a difference in their workplace. We spent the day listening to their stories and discussing the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusivity in the work environment.
We were also given an extraordinarily generous donation of $500.00 by the company CEO, Gary Dudley, on behalf of the company. We will be using this money to purchase products for our ongoing Sanitary Products Drive, as well as donating some of the funds to women's shelters around San Antonio. We’re truly overwhelmed with gratitude.
This was an incredible opportunity that we are immensely grateful for."
