News You Can Use
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences will occur in two formats this year:
Wednesday, October 13th will be in-person from 4:30 to 8:00PM
Thursday, October 14th will be virtual, via Zoom, from 12:00 to 7:00PM
Registration for both days will be scheduled by parents online via Meet The Teacher. For more step-by-step information regarding the registration process please click here.
The website link will become active at 9:00AM on Saturday, October 2nd and will remain open for the week until 11:00PM on Sunday, October 10th.

Want to Help Feed the Prairie Staff?
During Parent/Teacher Conferences, the PTO hosts a teacher dinner on Wednesday, October 13th. We cater the dinner, but need donations such as bottled water, flavored water, tea, soda and desserts to make it extra special for our staff.
If you can donate, please drop off your donation in the Prairie office by Wednesday, October 13, no later than 2PM.

Boys Basketball and Spirit Team Tryouts
Boys Basketball tryouts will take place on Thursday, October 21st and Friday, October 22nd from 3:45-5:00pm. Additionally if needed we will have tryouts on Tuesday, October 26th 3:45 - 5:00pm. Please plan on attending all 3 dates. This information was sent to students today via Schoology. Some students have already signed up. Please communicate with your student and do not sign up twice. You can register your child for tryouts at these links:
Spirit Team clinic & tryouts will take place on Monday, October 18th from 3:45-5:00pm (clinic) and Tuesday, October 19th from 3:45-5:00pm (tryout). Your student must attend both days. This information was sent to students today via Schoology. Some students have already signed up. Please communicate with your student and do not sign up twice. Prairie 7th Grade Halloween Social
All 7th grade Prairie students are invited to a Halloween Party on Friday, October 29th from 7PM to 9PM at Prairie Middle School. The event will be tons of fun and include the following activities:

BMP PTO 10/29/21 7th Grade Social Halloween Costume Party
Donations & Volunteers Needed Please!
To make this event a huge success for our students, we need your help. Please click on the link below for the SignUp Genius to donate items (candy, decorations, and games) or volunteer your time to this great event.
NOTE: Please see below for important details from our principal, Mr. Travis Lobbins, on expectations for this event.
Students are encouraged to wear a costume, but it’s not required.
COVID masks must be worn when inside the school.
Specific costume rules are as follows:
Fake blood or violent attributes are not allowed.
Fake guns, knives, swords, axes, or any other item that could be portrayed as a weapon or toy weapon are not allowed.
Masks that completely cover the face and head are not allowed.
Costume makeup is permitted.
Political costumes will not be allowed.
Costumes that resemble any Prairie Staff member will not be permitted.
Students must bring their school ID to check into the party.
Register for Snowflake
Snowflake at Prairie takes place on November 17th after school. Snowflake is a program that enforces positive decision making and healthy behaviors. Students participate in large group sessions led by a guest speaker, followed by small group sessions. Each small group consists of 10-12 students, 3 high school student leaders, and an adult leader.
Check out the Snowflake website for more information. Masks are required for the entirety of the event and social distancing rules will be followed.
