From The Greens...
We had quite the month with weather in February, we had 1 rain day 1.15” and 1 snow day 1” and also had temperatures in the 70’s down to the low 20’s. With all those extremes the maintenance crew was able to aerify fairways and most of the rough. This cultural practice helps relieve compaction, help release toxic gases , increase water infiltration rates, reduce thatch and stimulate root growth. Our next aerification procedure will be on tees, they will be overseeded and topdressed.
Thanks for your support!

Ladies' Club
Everyone is at least, a little bit, Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. I say, let’s enjoy the luck of the Irish all month long. May the wind always be at your back, and may the hand of a friend always be near you.
This month’s opportunities are “Captains Points and Putt’s” on week one. “Even Holes” is the game on the 8th. Beware of the Ides of March - on the 15th we play “Stroke Play”, followed by “Blind 9” on the 22nd, and finish the month with “Captains Putts” on the 29th. Our spring guest day is just around the corner on April 12th, it’s time to gather your girlfriends and get your team together to celebrate the joy of golfing with good friends. May the sun always shine on your window pane (and on Thursdays).
Fortunately in February we had several spring like days. Our winners for the month: February 1st Low Gross - Sherri Fernandez, Low Net – Linda Arlen, on the 8th the winners of “4 Pars” were Joan Flinn – Low Gross and Sharon Peterson – Low Net, followed on the 22nd with Linda Arlen taking Low Gross and Betty Noey won Low Net. Congratulations! May your purse always hold a coin or two.
Don some green, find a partner and a lucky charm. There is a ladies flight in the St Patrick’s Day Tournament, Saturday March 17th, 8:30 AM Shotgun Start (no worries Daylight Savings Time begins on the 11th), Corned Beef and Cabbage with green beer at the turn, 2 person best ball, gross & net winners from each flight. Closest to the pin and additional games and contests. Sign up in the Pro Shop. Wishin' you a pot o' gold, and all the joy your heart can hold.
The following Saturday, March 24th, is the AVGC Men’s Tournament. This event includes a ladies flight, sign up in the pro shop, awards will follow at the Valley View Grill. These are fun tournaments with good camaraderie.
Spring officially arrives with the solstice on March 20th.
