Silver Ranch Report
BETTER TOGETHER...WE ARE THE STAMPEDE
February 2023
Message from Mrs. Jordan
We are looking forward to Parent Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, February 7th and Thursday, February 9th. Parent-teacher conferences offer great opportunities to deepen your working relationship with your child’s teacher. Parent/school partnership is important in the success of all of our students. Links to schedule your conference have been sent and it is also posted on our website.
Another way to be informed on your child’s progress is through Powerschool. If you do not have an online parent access account set up, please contact our office at (701) 323-4250. This resource allows you to check your child’s progress at any time of the year.
The Silver Ranch PAC would love to support our staff next week during conferences by providing them something to eat. Please complete the signup link below if you are able to help out by volunteering to bring an item off the list. Thanks for supporting the Silver Ranch staff!
Silver Ranch Online Store Closes on 2/3/23
Back by popular demand, our Silver Ranch online clothing/apparel store is open for orders again. Here is your link to the store: https://silverranchwinter2023.itemorder.com/
The online store closes on Friday, February 3rd at 12:00 pm.
Silver Ranch PAC Meeting 2/6/23
Please join us at our next Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) or PTO on Monday, February 6th at 6:00 pm.
The agenda will include planning upcoming events for our students and families. We would love to hear your ideas. Based on several survey results and comments, it is important for families to have school-wide events. In order to plan and prepare for these events, we need your support!
There will be free child care and snacks provided during the meeting!
We want to remind you every Silver Ranch Elementary parent/guardian, staff member, and teacher is automatically a member of the PAC. We encourage everyone to attend meetings and become involved so we can plan some fun Silver Ranch events!
Kindergarten Registration 2/1-2/28/23
Children who are 5 years old on or before July 31 can register for fall kindergarten in Bismarck Public Schools starting February 1st. You can find more details on our District Registration website here: https://www.bismarckschools.org/Page/3781
Registration is open throughout the school year but parents are strongly encouraged to register as soon as possible to help ensure placement in their neighborhood school. The sooner a student is registered, the higher the probability of them attending their boundary school. Due to capacity limitations, those who wait too long may be placed in a different school and required to wait until the following year to be enrolled in their boundary school.
Student Council Movie Night 2/24/23
Camp Edventure Registration Deadline is 3/20/23
Camp Edventure is a free six-week elementary summer school program focusing on reading and math. Children entering grades 1 through 5 in the fall and whose parents live in the Bismarck Public School District are eligible to attend. Camp Ed begins June 5th and goes through July 18th (no school on July 4th and 5th). Classes will be in session each day from 8:00-12:00.
We encourage parents to register online to simplify the process. To register online, simply log on to PowerSchool at https://bismarck.ps.state.nd.us. If you don't have a login, contact our secretaries at (701) 323-4250 to get started.
- Once you've signed in, click on the "Forms" link on the left side.
- Select the "Camp Edventure Registration Form '', fill out your student's information , and submit.
The deadline for registering is Monday, March 20, 2023. All registrations received by the deadline will be guaranteed a spot. Late registrations will be placed on a waiting list and parents will be notified if space becomes available.
Silver Ranch Kids Heart Challenge
Silver Ranch students are invited to join the Heart Hero Dragons as they work to BE THE TORCH in the fight against heart disease and stroke in North Dakota! This annual community service project that many of your students have enjoyed in previous schools is something we are excited to bring to Silver Ranch this year.
This year we are ON AN IMPORTANT MISSION: a mission to have some heart-pumping fun in PE class, to learn more about our hearts, and to help raise lifesaving donations to help kids -and all people- with special hearts. We also want to help the AHA reach their goal of all families learning Hands only CPR through Finn’s Mission. And we earn new PE equipment for our school in the process!
The ADVENTURE is about to begin…
To get started or learn more about KHC, click our school link http://www2.heart.org/goto/silverranchhasheart or download the Kids Heart Challenge App in your app store.
- Register and earn your FREE torch wristband
- Complete Finn’s Mission and help the AHA achieve their goal of 1.8 million families learning Hands only CPR
- Have fun while helping save lives!
Thank you for your support.
Together, we are igniting a life-saving torch!
Dress for the weather
It is important for our students to be dressed for the weather. Remember that students will go outside for recess as long as the temperature/wind chill is above -15°F. Please be sure your child wears the appropriate clothing to school each day. Weather Policies
Silver Ranch After School Art Club - February
Art Club is on Thursday from 3:05-5:00 on days when school is in session. Cost is $40 per artist for the month of February. We will be utilizing a number of different mediums and learning about various styles of art and different artists every month. Creativity is encouraged! If you bring an afterschool snack, it needs to be a single-serve prepackaged snack. If you suffer any symptoms, the artist should refrain from coming to class. Class size limited to 25 . Please pre-register at: https://ninabanina13.wixsite.com/artfromtheheart/book-online
