Reminders from the South Main Office

Arrival/Dismissal Notes:

PARENTS “DROPPING OFF” STUDENTS BEFORE SCHOOL and PICKING UP AFTER SCHOOL: Mr. D'Andrea encourages all parents whose children are eligible for bus service to use the buses on June 2nd. Doing so will eliminate most of the traffic congestion anticipated in the AM - the regular driveway, normally used by parents to drop-off students in the rear of the school, will be closed on Friday, June 2nd due to preparation activities. If you must drive your child to school on June 2nd, please use the following guidelines:

1.) Use the upper driveway normally reserved for buses. PLEASE DELAY YOUR ARRIVAL UNTIL 8:40 A.M. YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE MARKED TARDY DUE TO THE SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE DAY.

2.) The parking lot section, located in the rear of the building, will be reserved for those individuals serving as Fun Fair volunteers.

3.) Students being picked up/taken home in the afternoon MUST bring a note to school on June 2nd. Last-minute pick-ups on Field Day/Fun Fair create confusion for students and staff. Please make your plans in advance of June 2nd to assist us ensuring all students are accounted for at all times.

General Safety Reminders:

Parents are welcome to observe Field Day activities, but FUN FAIR AND CHILL ZONE ARE RESTRICTED TO STAFF, STUDENTS, AND PARENT VOLUNTEERS ONLY.

Shoes: students should wear sneakers with socks to school on June 2nd - please no Crocs, sandals, or open-toes shoes.
