COVID-19 Mitigation Plan Presentation
- discussed the CDC guidelines released on July 9, 2021
- explained the layered mitigation strategies outlined by the Illinois State Board of Education that will help monitor community and school transmission and allow us to plan for the 2021-2022 school year
2021-2022 School Hours
- Elementary School: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Middle School: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- High School: 7:20 a.m. - 2:21 p.m.
- AM Kindergarten: 8:00 - 10:55 a.m.
- PM Kindergarten: 12:05 - 3:00 p.m.
- AM Early Childhood: 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
- PM Early Childhood: 12:30 - 3:00 p.m.
Mask Usage in District 303
District 303 will follow the CDC/IDPH/ISBE guidelines which include:
- Fully vaccinated individuals are no longer required to wear masks in District 303 buildings. Vaccinated individuals may continue to choose to wear masks at any time
- Masks should be worn inside by students and staff members who are not fully vaccinated. Under current CDC/IDPH/ISBE guidelines, masking is no longer mandated
- Masks are not required while students and staff members are outside when physical distancing can be maintained
- Additionally, all staff must wear a mask unless they provide proof of vaccination or are enrolled in the screening testing program
Physical Distancing
- Students and staff will be spaced at a minimum of three feet apart in classroom settings
- Students and staff members will be spaced six feet apart while eating
- District 303 will continue to use physical distancing reminder signage in hallways and high traffic areas
Screening Testing
- District 303 will contract with the University of Illinois SHIELD to conduct weekly screening tests
Contact Tracing
- District 303 will continue contact tracing
Quarantine/Isolation
- Isolation will be necessary if a student or staff member has COVID-19, or presents symptoms of COVID-19
Transportation
- Masks are required to be worn on all public transportation including school buses
Self-Certification
- No longer required
- Once allowed, unvaccinated individuals looking to enter any District 303 building will be required to self-certify that they are symptom-free and wear a mask while in our schools
District 303 administration will add or remove mitigation strategies based on changes in rates of transmission in our community and schools. The full COVID-19 Mitigation Plan for the 2021-2022 school year can be found here.

Remote Educational Program
Mr. Mark Moore, Assistant Superintendent for Leadership and Administrative Services, outlined Policy 6:185 – Remote Educational Program. He indicated that the Board could approve the adoption of the policy that would provide the opportunity for qualifying students to participate in a remote educational program for the 2021-2022 school year.
Mrs. Jan Geier, Assistant Superintendent for Leadership and School Improvement and Mrs. Audra Christenson, Executive Director of Secondary Education spoke about the process families will use to apply for the educational program, which will be delivered by Edmentum. The application will be sent out by July 28.
